Hello I am Mark Schenkel - tree and wood enthusiast.  I started Upstate Tree Removal in the Spring of 2019 after spending 30 years in the software industry.  The primary reason for starting the company was to allow myself a way to continue working and generating income while doing more enjoyable outside work.  Indeed working 50+ hour weeks in front of a computer year after year can become mentally tiring.  Seeing what surely would be an increased demand for tree removal because of the Emerald Ash Borer, I decided to make the jump in March 2019.

Upstate Tree Removal is NY LLC backed by a one million dollar General Liability Insurance policy.  Our policy prohibits us from using any sort of aerial lifts or climbing trees (my wife also has a say in this as well).  Consequently this limits the type of jobs we can take on.  But on the plus side this also keeps our insurance costs very low.  It is our belief that because of this certain jobs can be done by us at a much lower cost than larger established tree service companies.
